Today is Snow Day #2.

It is also Chinese New Year’s Eve.  What a wonderful day to have off!  We cleaned our house and our bedroom looks like new 🙂

Here is a picture of the dumplings we made. Ground pork, nappa cabbage, shrimp, jiu cai, and more.  Can you tell who made which ones?

The snow has kept us at home. But never fear! We will find something delicious to make 🙂 We had everything we needed for this recipe in our fridge and pantry, yay!

D knows how much I LOVE pizza.

I love pizza so much that I convinced some of my co-workers to do “Pizza Day” with me every Wednesday. We take turns getting different kinds of pizza and eat it together as we plan for school.

I love pizza so much that during my first year teaching, I ate it every day. That’s right. EVERY day for the entire first year.

I love any kind of pizza-thin crust, deep dish, pan pizza, stuffed crust, pizza pockets, and oh yes, pizza rolls.

So when D saw this on the seriouseats article for HOMEMADE PIZZA ROLLS, we had to try it!

At first, I was very frustrated because I couldn’t get the shape that I wanted.  But soon, I figured out a system and these guys started coming out:

Then, we put them in to hot oil and fried them!  SO GOOD.  What  more could you want than FRIED PIZZA?!

Here is the finished product.  So yummy!

Hi from Shanghai everyone!

I know you may think this is silly, but i LOVE going to the grocery store here and just looking at all the different kinds of food and SNACKS.

Here are a couple picks of the vast variety of chips they have here…

As you can see, the pringles have bluberry, bbq steak, seawead, and finger-licking braised pork (which we chose of course).  The braised pork flavor has a nice 5-spice kick to it-yummy!

Here is another one we found:

Not sure if you can tell, this is KIMCHI chips.  but it tastes like…..BBQ lays!  hahah. i liked this one, although i was disappointed it wasn’t spicier.

Aaron took us to Ming Tsai’s restraunt and it was awesome!

I only took pics of the appetizers ans desserts on my iPhone, so I’ll update soon 🙂

Took a stroll around my childhood neighborhood in search of this…

Took a day trip to Charleston from Columbia, South Carolina today and had an awesome time. Had lunch at Jestine’s Kitchen and the soul food was fantastic!

so a friend told me to try this place out for burgers.  and it was delish!  d had the kuma burger (10 oz. burger with an egg on top) and their home made chips, which he loved.  i had the neurosis (10 oz burger with 2 cheeses, sauteed mushrooms and onions) and waffle fries.  the burger was too big for me 🙂

d’s verdict: “one of the best burgers i’ve ever had”

it was a lil overboard with the heavy metal music, but if you can stand the noise, it’s so worth it!
